Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what the operator of outgive.lol, a Texas limited liability company ("outgive", "we", "us") collects when you use outgive.lol (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Use.
1. Information we collect
- Listing information you submit. The website URL or X handle you enter and the amount you give. This information is published on the public leaderboard and activity feed by design, together with the time of the gift and click counts. Do not submit anything you want kept private.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, billing name, email, and related data under its own privacy policy. We receive a confirmation of payment, the amount, a payment reference, and the email address or name you provided at checkout. We never receive or store full card numbers.
- Usage and device information. We use PostHog for product analytics and Google Firebase for hosting and data storage. These tools collect information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, button clicks and other interaction events, and identifiers stored in cookies or local storage. Clicks on leaderboard links pass through our redirect so we can count them.
- Communications. If you email us, we keep the correspondence.
2. How we use information
- To operate the leaderboard, process and record gifts, and display public Listings.
- To compute and disburse the charitable portion of gifts and to keep records of those disbursements.
- To measure and improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
- To respond to your messages.
Where required (for example in the EEA or UK), our legal bases are performance of a contract (processing your gift and Listing), legitimate interests (analytics, security, improving the Service), and consent where applicable law requires it for cookies or similar technologies.
3. Cookies and analytics
PostHog sets cookies and/or local storage identifiers to recognize returning browsers and to measure sessions and events. Firebase may set operational cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the Service will still work. Where applicable law requires consent, we will ask for it before setting non-essential cookies.
4. How we share information
- Publicly: Listing name/URL/handle, gift amounts, timestamps, ranks, and click counts are public.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Google Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting, database, functions), PostHog (analytics), and email providers, each only as needed to provide their service to us.
- Featured charities: We disburse in aggregate and do not share your name or email with charities unless you separately consent.
- Legal and safety: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of outgive, our users, or others, including fraud and chargeback investigation.
- Business transfers: If we are acquired or merge, information may transfer to the successor, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Retention
Public Listing and gift records (including any title and description retrieved from a listed website) are retained for as long as the leaderboard exists, because the board is a historical record. Payment and disbursement records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal obligations (typically at least seven years). Analytics data is retained according to our PostHog settings and is periodically aggregated or deleted.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to or restrict processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising). To exercise any right, email privacy@outgive.lol. We may need to verify your identity. Note that a Listing's public existence is part of the Service; we may keep a minimal record of paid ranks even after honoring a deletion request, where we have a legitimate or legal need to do so.
7. International transfers
We operate using service providers in the United States and may process information there and in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including HTTPS, restricted database write access, and reputable processors. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable) and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy by posting a new version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on the Service.
